The Story of how J&J Lawn Care LLC Began - Local Landscaping Company
In 2004, Jonathan was born in Greenwich Hospital and grew up in Old Greenwich, CT. From an early age he watched his father mow the lawn each week. He was always fascinated by watching his father transform the long grass each week. Jonathan's grandmother, a long time resident of Old Greenwich, was in charge of the plants and shrubs on the property. He spent his early childhood learning about proper plant maintenance and plant selections for garden beds. When he turned 9 years old he decided to start mowing the lawn on his own. The instant joy he felt after mowing the lawn is when he fell in love with landscaping. His mother, Stacy, was alongside Jonathan helping to teach him how to weed-whack the edges properly. It was a family effort to take care of the property, till Jonathan decided to take it over all on his own. After learning how to take care of his parent's property, he set out on foot to offer mowing services to his neighbors. He did not have much luck at first since he was so young, but this did not discourage him. He kept knocking on doors and finally found his first client on Peters Road in Riverside.

Jonathan continued gaining clients throughout high-school and finally had enough money saved up to by his first truck. When he purchased the truck he knew he would be able to service more clients and look more professional. Senior year he partnered up with Rudy Carpio, who had been working with Jonathan for a few years prior. Jonathan felt that he needed a partner who shared the same passion as him for landscaping. The summer after Jonathan and Rudy graduated they decided to dedicated their entire lives to growing the business. That summer Rudy and Jonathan acquired 30 new clients. But then were faced with the decision of whether or not to get a college degree. They both thought it would be smart to pursue their dreams of owning a business and having a college degree in their back pocket. Jonathan attended CU Boulder and Rudy attended UConn. This allowed Jonathan to focus on the marketing, communication with clients, and getting new jobs, all while managing college work. Rudy was in charge of getting the crews ready each morning and talking to clients in person. This was their greatest challenge since they were both split up, but they made it work. Jonathan would travel back home a few times a month to help with the larger plant installations and designs. Looking back at it, they think splitting their roles up helped with the companies success.
Jonathan and Rudy are a full service landscaping company in Greenwich. They service all the surrounding towns and currently plan on getting their pesticide license in the near future. They employee 4 full time employees who have been crucial to their success.
J&J Lawn Care currently services around 100 properties each week and offer junk removal services throughout the year. They have purchased another truck for their junk removal side of the business.
